UKG First Play
We're in the studio at the moment finishing off the new material for the album, which is sounding
absolutely ridiculous even if I do say so myself...!
Other than that we are just gigging lots and hopefully organising a UK tour for sometime soon. Then we'll be going out to the States later this year to get everything ready for the album release in Spring '07.
Obviously you'll be the first to know of any developments... Yinka!

The Lord bless you for saying that!
Does this mark a new, international chapter in the contemporary history of UK gospel music...? To be honest, I don't know the answer to that one. We've been here before...
However, the SLICKHANDED sound is certainly different, and definitely has sufficient edge for it to sit comfortably within the AVISTA stable range.
Being on the same roster as TONEX's schizophrenic production output, (then there's
also CHIZMATONIC, DOOBIE POWELL, DJ SEAN BLU and a few more artists besides) is definitely not gonna do them any harm, that's for sure. And with UNIVERSAL's marketing muscle also in the mix, this situation is most definitely one to watch.
One of the major problems with an emerging industry like ours is the dire shortage of quality original material that can travel. In SoL I think it's fair to say we've worthy ambassadors.

The fact that you guys liked the music enough to propel it to the top of the MP20 in such large numbers also goes some way to making the point about how much their music seems to connect.
However this all turns out, one thing's for sure: UK Urban gospel music forerunners on the global stage continue to gather steam, and I - like many before and after me - continue to be excited about the reverse direction of the gospel music traffic. Sure the Americans have done an unbelievable amount for the international profile of both traditional and contemporary gospel music...
...But it's time we returned the favour; SoL is just one of the ways that we'll be showing the world how we do...
