EX-ROYAL PRIESTHOOD MEMBER CONTINUES THE GOOD WORK
I always worry when I hear groups have split.
It suggests bitterness and polarised attitudes now reside where
there was once a musical and creative synergy.

I become even more worried when I hear Christian groups have broken up: what do they say to people when they get asked?
How does it affect the people who followed their music and had been fans? Do fans split into camps - based on favourite members...?

I know, I know - I need to get a life. But you get my point, though; Christian artists have a responsibility that goes beyond that of an ordinary band. Everything we do DOES have to reflect what it is we say we believe...

Sure, musical priorities and directions change. That's just how life is.
But there has to be a way of leaving a group or resolving creative differences that doesn't necessarily result in hard feelings...

And that, good friends, brings me to SILAS. He used to be in ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, but has since left to do solo work. But the guys still do a lot of stuff together, guesting on their live, music and video projects. Good news. For my money, the way it ought to be.

So, allow me to tell you about SILAS' new project,
STREET SYMPHONY. He's now become what he calls a 'community activist', along with his wife Natasha.
Between them they founded KINGDOM AND ROYALTY
(of which STREET SYMPHONY is an outreach project).

Extract from the STREET SYMPHONY website:
STREET SYMPHONY
it is a community project aiming to bring awareness to issues that affect society, rehabilitate broken lives, and provide mentorship as to bring social change and inspire a revolution of unity in communities all over this nation and other regions.

Meeting once a month in Camberwell, South East London, they welcome all communities to discuss and challenge each other on how we can better our people together.

STREET SYMPHONY focuses on nine areas of development: Education, Crime in the Community, Drug Awareness, Poverty And Homelessness, Aid to Africa, Sport Development, Music and Performing Arts, Health Care and Family Support. It has launched in South London, Essex, Dublin, Chatham (Kent) and Central London.
NEW ALBUM
In addition to the practical, community-led Christianity of
STREET SYMPHONY, SILAS' second album, SEA OF GRACE is
released this weekend, on the 29th of June.

From way back in his ROYAL PRIESTHOOD days to date
Zimbabwe-born SILAS' mic skills and honest, articulate delivery
rarely strayed from its authentic Hip-hop roots, to great effect.

This new phase is also marked by an expanded name (in SILAS ZEPHANIA) and a new crew, YESHUA MILITIA.

Check SILAS at STREET SYMPHONY this weekend, and support a movement that not only offers great music but delivers true Christian community support programmes. Details below.
